How is Lamaze different from other childbirth education methods?
Lamaze is an evidence-based approach that promotes confidence, comfort and informed decision-making in birth. It focuses on the six Healthy Birth Practices, helping parents feel empowered and prepared for a safe, satisfying birth, supporting every birth plan.
What will be covered in the classes?
Classes include evidence-based information on the stages of labour, comfort measures, breathing techniques, medical interventions, birth planning, consent and informed choice, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and much much more!
Who are these classes for?
Lamaze classes are designed for expecting mothers and their birth support person, whether it's a first baby or not. They are also perfect for anyone wanting comprehensive education or a refresher if it's been a long time since their last baby
When is the best time to take a class during pregnancy?
Ultimately, the class can be taken when you feel ready. Generally, the recommendation is between 28-36 weeks of pregnancy, but earlier or later attendance is absolutely fine depending on your schedule.
Do I need to bring anything to class?
Just comfortable clothes, a water bottle and an open mind. All other materials are provided.
